TIME Sober Living is a 12-step house, which means we believe in the solution as outlined in the 12-Steps of Recovery.
During the first 30 days, you are required to attend a minimum of five 12-step meetings per week. You will also be provided with a sign-in sheet, which must be completed and signed off on by the lead/chair at that meeting. You can put the folded up sheet in the basket that is passed around during the contribution break, or you may also bring it up to the lead/chair after the meeting for his/her signature. This meeting sheet must be turned in on Sundays during the mandatory house meeting.
A meeting consists of three things:
- 15 minutes fellowship prior to meeting
- One hour structured meeting
- 15 minutes fellowship after the meeting
Other Mandatory Meetings
Our weekly community meetings are held every Sunday. TIME North is held at 7:00 pm and TIME South is held at 4:00 pm. Attendance is mandatory. If an absence is deemed necessary, prior notification must be communicated to a staff member.
At TIME South, we offer groups lead by our Client Development Specialist. These groups are held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm and your participation is required if you are on the property during this time. The groups may consist of a guest speaker, a group building activity or even a movie and pizza night. The group also counts as one of your 12-step meetings, since the main purpose is fellowship.
At TIME North, we do things a little differently with regards to peer-support activities and community upbuilding. Once per month, our Client Development Specialist coordinates a special event. To date, we have gone paintballing, bowling, and had a beach outing followed by a pizza lunch.
